A Call for Disney's American Teacher Nominations

Nominations are currently being accepted for Disney's American Teacher Awards (sponsored by the Walt Disney Company since 1989). All talented, creative K-12 teachers are eligible. Students, parents, administrators, teachers, and community members may nominate teachers via a toll-free number, 1-877-ATA-TEACH or on-line at www.disneylearning.org. Nominated teachers receive a letter and application which teachers must complete and return by June 2nd. The nomination form is very simple. See sample questions below:

Each of the honorees, three teachers in each of 10 categories, plus a category honoring three teams of teachers, will be featured in a nationally cablecast awards program in December on the Disney Channel.

The top teacher will receive $25,000 plus $10,000 for that teacher's school. Each honoree will receive $10,000 and each of their schools will receive $5,000. Finalists in each category will receive an additional $5,000.

This is a great opportunity for students, parents, and community members to recognize some of the exceptional teachers we have in our schools.
