Lawler gained recognition as a Balfour Scholar through Tufts University after being recommended by her guidance counselor at the High School, Angela Hughes, and passing a rigorous interview process. That recognition allows Lawler to participate in the universitys scholarship program, which consists completely of grants and work study, not student loans.
The scholarship is renewable for all four years of study at Tufts, providing Lawler maintains a 3.0 average. Hughes believes that shouldnt be difficult for the young scholar. "She is an excellent student," she said of Lawler.
Congratulations and good luck, Rose.
