Katora Russell Wins Achievement Award

Eighth grader Katora Russell was recently inducted into the Thurgood Marshall Achievers Society which is sponsored by the Urban League of Long Island. The Achievers Society is a component of the Campaign for Achievement which was initiated in March 1997 to encourage, recognize, and reinforce achievement among youth, particularly African-Americans and people of color. Katora was nominated by several of her Middle School teachers, and sponsored by Anne Gassner, Middle School Guidance Counselor.
