The HS Library has the following online databases available to students and staff. Using the usernames and passwords provided, they all offer remote access – you can access them from any computer at school or at home.Ask Ms. Kennedy or Mr. Prussack for usernames and passwords.

We have several different online databases from Proquest, some of them are a part of the Virtual Reference Collection, some not. To make life easier for us, Proquest has created access to all of them through their “My Products” page.

This database provides up-to-date cultural, economic, political, and environmental information and news articles on the 192 countries of the world. It is a well organized and easily navigated site that includes pictures and maps. This site can be accessed by clicking on the icon on the main menu or by typing in the following:
(4)EBSCO McGILL ON LITERATURE PLUS:
This is one ofSalem Press’ premier literary database, combining MagillOnLiterature and MagillOnAuthors. This database includes all the literary works, reviewed critical analyses and brief plot summaries that are included in MagillOnLiterature, as well as all the biographies and author essays included in MagillOnAuthors

This online database comes with Salem Press’ 4 volume Reference Set: Milestones in World History Documents. It provides unlimited, free online access to the content in that title through 12/31/2011.

(6)WORLD BOOK DISCOVER:
This is a wonderful database for differentiated learning. It translates its articles, etc. into approximately 14 languages (print format), and for those students struggling with reading/reading in English, it will read articles aloud. It offers World Book articles, timelines, images, and audio clips, plus much more.
